The V.B.I.M. Method: Vision, Benchmark, Intention, & Manifestation

Manifesting your Success in the New Year | Manifesting is the practice of bringing something into reality through focused thoughts, beliefs, and visualizations. It's a practice I have participated in personally over the past 4 years and have made it part of my mission in life to encourage others to start manifesting now - you can read about my personal manifestation journey here. Manifesting goes beyond hocus pocus - you are creating a strategic plan for your life.

So how can you manifest your success in 2025? It's important to start with a clear mind and clean slate. Take a moment to reflect on 2024 and close the chapter on it before you get started- carrying forward only the essentials. Once you have done this, The V.B.I.M. Method - Vision, Benchmark, Intention, & Manifestation - can help you get started on your 2025 chapter.

  • Step One: Set your Vision. Begin to think about the year ahead and all aspects of your life.  What would bring you fulfilment in the year ahead?  Imagine yourself in January 2026 - what do you hope to be celebrating or working on?  Think even further into the future – what do you want your life to be?  Visualize what this looks like and capture it in some fashion. I personally like to create a vision board with pictures and inspiring quotes, split into different meaningful categories in my life.

  • Step Two: Create Benchmarks. In this step, take the ideal future - your vision - and fold it backwards. What seeds can you plant today that will produce that ideal future?  Create concrete benchmarks (seeds). Did you know... writing down your goals increases the likelihood of reaching them by 42%? Note that benchmarks should not be confused with rewards - "making a million dollars" is not a benchmark, but the efforts that create the path to that outcome certainly can be. Add these benchmarks to your vision board.

  • Step Three: Live with Intention. We can all dream up a vision, but is that vision consistently top of mind? Do you think about it every time you make a decision? Living with intention means that you do hold that vision close and do keep it top of mind in all that you do. Think about this... You want to build a better relationship with your spouse or significant other this year. Are you keeping that vision close during all of your conversations and disagreements? Do your actions and words support your goal consistently - even on bad days and in hard times? Intention drives results, so seeing your vision daily and focusing on it as much as possible is key to bringing it to life.  I keep my vision board on my desk – other people keep it in their closet or bathroom to ensure it is seen daily.  I also try to carve out a meaningful reflection on my vision the first of every month - this can be a great reset/re-energizing point. Living with intention also means sharing your vision with others. Be bold and talk about your vision and benchmarks.  This is how you welcome in and attract opportunities and guidance.

  • Step Four: Manifest & pay it forward.  With the power of Vision, Benchmarks, and Intention at work, you are on your way to Manifesting the future. Don't be alarmed when those around you take notice of the intangible magic that comes with it - a positive shift in your energy, happiness, and luck. Keep the karmic energy flowing by paying it forward: a wonderful byproduct from living with intention and sharing your vision with others is having others share their vision with you.  It's important to seize opportunities to help others reach their goals.

YSA Key Takeaways:

  • Manifesting goes beyond hocus pocus – you are creating a strategic plan for your life. We have the power to attract what we are looking for.

  • Follow the V.B.I.M. method: Start by creating a Vision, then fold it backwards to create Benchmarks (goals) to get there. Create accountability in staying connected your vision – see it daily and reflect on it often.  Join a manifesting group or create one!  I started the YSA Manifestation Cohort in January 2024 and it became a meaningful way for myself and our members to grow and share in a supportive environment.

  • Keep your Vision & Benchmarks close to you and apply Intention to all you do. Share your journey with others, allowing guidance and support from others. Enjoy the benefits of Manifesting - even those you didn't anticipate - and don't forget to pay it forward by adding value to the inspired people around us.

  • Keep in mind, manifesting isn’t a measured success - you may not reach the goals you set out to accomplish. The only certainty in manifesting is the adoption of a life of intention. Remember, if the universe (God) gave us everything we asked for, it would never have the opportunity to exceed our expectations.

Let me know if you would like help creating a vision board! I would love to hear about your manifesting journey!
